A Love Hate Relationship

I just finished the third book of Stephanie Meyer's Twilight series. I know I am a little bit late getting on the lusty vampire bandwagon. Friends of mine have been raving about the series forever and since I had just finished Jane Austen's Emma, I thought it was time for another novel. I feel a little let down by the series though. Don't get me wrong, I absolutely devoured every book and am anxiously waiting for the fourth one to come out, it's just that I wasn't that impressed with her writing style. It just kind of bugged me. It seemed like she was repetitive in her descriptions. I wonder if she knows what a thesaurus is? Does she underestimate her readers' intelligence? I did like her characters and their chemistry together. There were some really juicy parts. I just felt that it all lacked just a little. This is the one book that I think the movie will be better than. I think the dialog in the movie will fill that void that is missing in the book. I am eagerly anticipating the movie and am already drooling over the guy who will play Edward! I guess what I have gotten out of my Twilight experience is that if Mrs. Meyer can write a top selling novel then maybe I have a chance at writing something worth reading.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MICHAEL (yesterday)

Michael turned the big 33 yesterday. He has never been very big on celebrating special events but the kids insisted we do something to surprise him. They all pitched in and helped me clean the house and make his Grammy's famous oatmeal molasses cookies. He wanted cookies instead of birthday cake. Those were the only gifts he got from us but he really likes to keep it simple. Then we had pizza and watched the Utah Jazz spank Houston in the Playoffs. A big thank you to the Jazz for not screwing things up in the fourth quarter and winning for Mike's birthday. He would a been in a horrid mood if you would have lost!
It wasn't a grand celebration but it we had a blast commemorating an amazing man!

Michael, you make 33 look DANG good!!!

Madse Says...

"I hate poop but I yike ice ceam!" as I am wiping his bum. I would have to agree with him except that I can't stand to think about food when the smell of feces is burning my nostrils! Where does he come up with this stuff?! Maybe from all that time he has to meditate between the shouts "MOMMY!! I'M DONE!! COME WIPE ME!!"

What A Kidder!!!

I got this email from Michael's sister, Cami. She thoroughly enjoys picking on all of her brothers and she can get away with because she is the only girl! There is so much LOVE in the Nash family! I know she secretly looks up to her oldest brother and wishes she was as COOL as him!

My FABULOUS Makeover!

Aaaahhhhh!!!!!!

I have a few cosmetologists residing at my house! Mikie begged and pleaded me to let her put makeup on me. It didn't take long before Ashley and Madse were in on the beautifying by brushing my hair NOT so gently and putting sponge curlers in my hair. I am sure you can tell by the pictures (Honestly, these pictures frighten me but they were just SO proud of their work and we had a really good time!) that Mikie went a tad bit overboard in the makeup department. She just kept discovering more stuff in my makeup bag and would add layer upon layer! She was a bit obsessive with the blush! Madse kept making the comment,"You so pwitty! Daddy is going to come home and dance wif you! He wiwl wuff you!" That wasn't quite the reaction I got but way to go Madse for being a romantic! I am so desperate for a little bit of pampering that if I closed my eyes I just might be able to convince myself that I am being made over in a real salon. I just won't mention the fact that I look like a drag queen to my little beauticians!

Wise Men Say Only Fools Rush In

Hearts broke all over Vernal on April 1,
1999! Who could blame them! After all two of the
most eligible and extremely goodlooking people were now off the
market!
It all started when Micheal spotted me at a softball game. My
beauty captivated him all the way from the outfield. It was one of those love at first sight, fireworks, violins in the background moments for him but not so much for me! It didn't take him too long to convince me that I was in love with him. He was quite persistance! No matter where I was, he just "happened" to be there too. He would wait for me while I closed up at my job at Burger's unlimited and ask to drive me home. He was borderline stalker! He wore down my resistance with his charm, his tranquilizing blue eyes, and his cheesy lines!
So here we are nine years later, five kids later, and I adore him so much more than I did when our love was new and exciting..and lusty!

This man seriously is the most amazing husband ever! He is still into me even though I have a mother(mutilated) body. He thinks I'm Martha FRICKIN Stewart. He changes butts, does housework, puts kids to bed. He watches sappy romantic movies with me and pretends to like them. (He really does like them, he would rather die than admit it.) He takes care of Family Home Evenings, family scripture study, family prayer AND couple scripture study and prayers. He buys me flowers every week. Over the years I have mentioned things that I wish he would do differently or improve on or change and he does it! He is always bringing home marriage self help books (not that we need them...ok maybe we need them but what couple doesn't) and he reads them and follows the advise in them. It is amazing to me that he has always been active in make our marriage successful and he gives it all of his energy! He sacrifices so much for our family. He would do anything to provide for us. He slays dragons for me! My only hope for the next nine years is that I can be a better wife for him. I could keep going on like this forever but I wouldn't want everyone elses husbands to look bad.

Happy Anniverary to us! It's been the best April Fools joke ever!
